Transcriptions

A transcription is the script or written text of what is being said in films or audio files. For this reason, it is also sometimes called ‘writing out’.

A transcription can be used for multiple purposes. They are often needed in interviews, TV and film production, for creating subtitles or for preserving and processing important speeches in the healthcare and legal sectors.

All types of video and audio file can be transcribed. A few commonly encountered formats are MP3, MP4, WAV, FLAC and even just YouTube videos.

No – modern technology is used today and saves a lot of time and money. Mostly, however, transcripts created by machine are not of sufficiently high quality. This is why post-editing is recommended, so that a specialist can review and correct the text.

The costs of a transcription will depend on the length of the source medium, the language, the number of speakers and the quality of the recording. Feel free to contact us here at any time for a quote.
